C - The Wine Road of Montello PDF Print Email

La strada dei Vini del MontelloTime: 3 hours
Transport: by bus
Suggested time: all-year
Geographic location: hilly area, in the center of the Province of Treviso

In the heart of Treviso there is the first mountain range: the hills of Montello, called The Forest of Venice for centuries, since that was the source of supply of timber for the Arsenal of Venice. During the First World War it became the theater of the most bloody and decisive battles.

Unfortunately, Francesco Baracca ended his aerial adventures here. Now it is a delightful place for the view that opens toward the river Piave and the richness of nature and its products: mushrooms, chestnuts and wines. The route was recently named the Wine Road of Montello, among which we can list: Prosecco DOC, Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Grigio.
