A - The Prosecco Road from Conegliano to Valdobbiadene Print

proseccoIn all of the Province of Treviso, visitors can see vineyards where the renowned Prosecco wine is made. However, the Road where the DOCG Prosecco Superiore is grown is the one that connects Valdobbiadene and Conegliano and that was nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage list for its geographic and scenic characteristics.
The guided tour starts with … and it includes a stop at the Oratory of Saint Vigilius, a charming building dominating the surrounding valleys. Research dates the origin of the building to the Lombard-Carolingian period, but documents bear witness to its existence from 1217. The frescoes inside the oratory are from the 15th century. The tour then winds up in San Pietro di Feletto with a stop at the homonymous Pieve, which also has a favorable geographical position overlooking a beautiful landscape. The current appearance was given to it in the 11th century. Beneath the porch stands the renowned “Sunday Christ”, and inside there is a remarkable fresco cycle from the 15th century. The tour continues in Refrantolo with a visit to the Molinetto della Croda, a mill with foundations built on rocks (“croda” in dialect) that dates back to the 17th century.
