The historic center of Treviso is characterized by the presence of numerous medieval evidence, period during which Treviso was subjected to numerous Signorie (from Roman, from Camino, from Carrara, ...) until the passage under Venice in 1339.
You will see the typical Tower Houses , The artisans' boulevard, Churches of important religious orders unfortunately no longer present in the city.
The Guided Tour will include the “Loggia dei Cavalieri” the place where the young noblemen used to meet for the game of chess; “The Palazzo del Trecento”(exterior), with its gigantic salon elegantly frescoed; The Church of St. Francis with the tombs of the sons of Dante and Petrarch (interior); The Church of St. Nicholas and the Sala del Capitolo, with the famous image of the first glasses in the history of art (interior); The charming Church of St. Lucia with the relics of the Saint and the fresco of the Madonna della Farfalla (interior), the Crypt of the Cathedral and the Old Canonical now Diocesan Museum (interior).
